‘The artist who paints the emotions creates an enclosed world... the picture...which, like a book, has the same interest no matter where it happens to be.’ (Pierre Bonnard)

We intend to raise awareness of the high quality, varied, community driven arts projects in the borough of Tower Hamlets.

Through this awareness we intend to build bridges across our community fully embracing diversity and generating inclusivity regardless of age, race, wealth, gender, sexual orientation, religion or disability.

Bethnal Green is too often associated with social deprivation, poverty and purported division across our community.  We do not consider that this is an adequate reflection of the outstanding level of art we have here and we want to change this misguided conception.

Beauty is not the source of disinterested pleasure, but simply the object of

a universal interest: the interest that we have in beauty, and in the pleasure

that beauty brings.  Roger Scruton 'Beauty: A Very Short Introduction'

Metin Salih

Maybe it is naive to say art is the universal language, and that we can open windows for all to see that we are one community.  Yet, if art can’t, nothing can.      John M. Eger

Rawia Zantout finds her inspiration in the works of prominent Impressionist painters many of whom lived and worked in the south of France where she lived and studied. Her work thus mirrors the magical reflections present in nature.
